Violette is my first link and for a good reason. She is an inspired and inspiring person, supportive of all those lucky enough to be part of her sphere. Violette's mission in life is "to inspire people to embrace their creativity, and to love and honour who they are". From reading her blog, you will soon realize that she 'walks the talk', and finds ways to remove or circumvent or ignore the barriers to just being who you are and celebrating it. Her book, Journal Bliss - creative prompts to unleash your inner eccentric, offers ideas, tools and tips that will lead you to an inner transformation - and help you express the real you - through journals. Joci precedes his artist's statement with a quote from the Spanish art nouveau architect, Antoni Gaudi: "But man does not create...he discovers". If art is the pursuit of discovery - then the photographer has the pleasure of every day being Christopher Columbus landing on the shores of America. We - the public - have the pleasure of being witness to these discoveries and photo-perspectives, and of hanging the results on our walls. In his photographs, Joci seeks to draw out what he calls the "compelling harmony" of his subjects, to "accentuate their forms",to "bring meaning", or to elevate the image "to another dimension". Many samples of his work and talented eye for discovery are shared on the website.
